’11 Best Guest Verses: #3 Eminem “Throw It Up”

Time and time again, Eminem proves why he’s one of the best to ever clutch a microphone. On Yelawolf’s “Throw It Up”, he anchors the track with clever couplets, witty limericks, and an undying penchant for fast food ,“I’m a rapper/then I wrap her/In the head/with a Whopper, that I bought from BK/ You expect me to be proper?” Nope. Have it your way Marshall.

“We like this with each other on an everyday basis. It’s just fortunate that it’s a video and they get to see it in that way,” Birdman told MTV News from his trailer on set of the “Y.U. Mad” video shoot in Miami back in October. “It’s a family atmosphere, and we talk a lot and we work a lot, and when it comes down to the music, we do it together, we’re unified. It’s what Lil Wayne and Birdman and Young Money, Cash Money all about — working as a team.” (via MTV)

T.I. Says Eminem Helped His Recovery

In this portion of his chat with Billboard, T.I. commends Eminem for helping him with his own drug addiction, which started off as medication from an oral surgery.

“I haven’t had a chance to speak to Em since I’ve been home. I heard that while I was down, he was trying to get in contact with me, but I don’t know if the dots just didn’t connect. [Eminem] overcoming his own adversities, winning the battle against his own demons and continuing to break the mold and re-set the standard of what it means to be the most successful hip-hop artist in the game … I salute that to no end.”

T.I. Salutes Eminem For Sticking By His Side

In part two of Billboard’s interview with T.I., the rapper talks about his relationship with Eminem and the continued support he’s received from him. While he hasn’t been in touch with Em since his release, TIP praised Marshall for reaching out and setting the precedent for others to follow.

“I haven’t had a chance to speak to Em since I’ve been home,” T.I. said. “I heard that while I was down, he was trying to get in contact with me, but I don’t know if the dots just didn’t connect. [Eminem] overcoming his own adversities, winning the battle against his own demons and continuing to break the mold and re-set the standard of what it means to be the most successful hip-hop artist in the game … I salute that to no end.”

“I love what he’s doing with Slaughterhouse. I love the move that he made to sign Yelawolf. And the record with him and Royce da 5′9″ … that record is going h.a.m. He killed that BET Hip-Hop Awards cypher. I’ve been peeping the move[ment].”

T.I. also offered advice for those fighting substance abuse.

“Everybody can tell you what you need to do, how to do it, when you need to do it, how bad you need to do it,” T.I. continued. “But until you get that right ass whipping, as they say, and until you have hit rock bottom or have seen something in yourself that is so out of character and it displeases you so much that you just have no choice but to change it … then you ain’t going to see it.”

Eminem Interviews Yelawolf via Twitter

With Yelawolf’s album in stores today, Eminem fired up his Twitter account and interviewed him through his tweets. Read the remaining nine questions after the jump.

Eminem: Where you at celebrating the release of #radioactive?
Yelawolf: Sup cracker dick?… I’m in a JackDaniels bottle homie… Watchin 8mile again… shits crazy… it really happened.

U are a true fan. How’s it feel to finally have #radioactive out there?
In Vegas about 10 months ago, in January. Then I played it for you later that month. We had about 12 keepers.

ok white dawg. So when did you start recording #Radioactive?
In Vegas about 10 months ago, in January. Then I played it for you later that month. We had about 12 keepers.

Sure did. What song from #Radioactive is your favorite?
Today, its “hardest love song”. I played it live with a band rehearsing for the Jimmy Kimmel show… sounded saucy.

Really? Why is that your favorite?
Well it varies from day to day, yesterday I was on “Gutter” all day… It was raining and I was on some dark shit.

Who or what inspired you the most while recording #Radioactive?
Man… I just used the people around me… every one who was involved… and of course life experience.

Why did you call it #radioactive?
Its the fall out to my journey so far. The #Radioactive material that came after the war. The uphill battle to get here……My science experiment gone right.

Now they said to ask some stupid ones. Batman or Superman?
If I had to pick, Batman. But my uncle Critter could kick both their ass in a single bound & shot gun a beer at the speed of light. BAMA!

R u going to the mall later?
Why?… You need some new air max ? hahahaa Honky Kong !!

If u could play #radioactive for any person in the world, who would it be?
That bitch ass motherfucker who threw my demo at my feet from his car window in 05… I was holding my 1 year old son……now my son is 7 and he’s got anything he wants. Thank you Marshall.

Ok @yelawolf I’m out! #radioactive.
