So late last night, some scans of a new Drake interview with Rolling Stone hit the Rap Internet and cause somewhat of an uproar. Among several other subjects, Drizzy made a couple of somewhat disparaging remarks about Kanye’s bars on the Yeezus album, and Fabolous got caught in the crossfire:
“There were some real questionable bars on there,” Drake says of Kanye‘s Yeezus album. “Like that ‘Swaghili’ line? Come on, man. Fabolous wouldn’t say some shit like that.”
This was somewhat surprising to read, particularly after the much talked about moment those two shared back during OVO Fest, Drake’s appearance on the Yeezus tour and all of the praise that Drake has repeatedly offered when asked about Ye’s influence on him.
This morning, Drake took to Twitter to denounce the interview, implying that his comments were “off the record” and promised to stop doing press altogether.
