Monica and Brandy speak out for the first time since the tragic passing of Whitney Houston last Saturday afternoon. While both were in attendance later that evening (photo above) at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party, both were clearly stricken by the news and cancelled their performance at the event. On set of the video for their reunion single “It All Belongs To Me,” the two singers who both idolized and were mentored throughout their careers by Whitney open up to E! News’ Clinton Sparks. While Monica used the time to reflect on the fallen diva, Brandy was clearly distraught and understandbly had a hard time speaking on the subject.
Funeral arrangements have been set to take place in Whitney’s native of Newark, New Jersey. The invitation-only funeral will take place at New Baptist Church at noon this Saturday.

Chaka Khan appeared on CNN’s Piers Morgan on Monday night, and expressed dissapointment in Clive Davis going through with his pre-Grammy party the same evening Whitney had passed away.
“I thought that was complete insanity,” Chaka Khan told Morgan. “I don’t know what could motivate a person, to have a party, in a building, where the person, whose life he had influenced so enormously, and whose life had been affected by her…I don’t understand how that party went on.”
Another person to express shock and speak out was Janet Jackson. The pop icon appeared on Anderson Cooper’s daytime talk show where she spoke on the tragic news, Whitney’s talent, and advice and words she has for Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina.
“It’s a very, very tough time. Even though it’s still a loss. I lost my brother, she lost her mother. There’s still a difference, even though there’s a still a loss to a family. I don’t know what that’s like being so young. It was hard for me. It was very, very difficult for me. I didn’t want to accept it, it’s very difficult. You have to come to terms at some point. You have to actually give it up to God and it sounds so mean, but you have to move on. You can’t hold onto that because it can be very devastating. Sometimes therapy is the best thing.”

We all know Beyonce is fly but this is just next level. Bey’s star power is so big even nerdy science researchers can’t help but get sucked in. In the oddball story of the day, Billboard posted a story about a species of fly that has now been named after Beyonce.
Bryan Lessard, , a 24-year-old researcher at Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization, was inspired to name a unknown fly after her. The bug had been sitting in a fly collection since it was captured in 1981 — the same year Bey’ was born.
Lessard says he wanted to pay respect to the insect’s beauty by naming it Scaptia (Plinthina) beyonceae. Lessard said Beyoncé would be “in the nature history books forever” and that the fly now bearing her name is “pretty bootylicious” with its golden backside.
More from Amber Rose and one of the other voices you hear on “N*ggas In Paris” ater the jump…
Amber Rose is gaining respect and admiration for her venture into music. Honestly, I’m surprised she’s being embraced this way but even I can’t deny that her first single is actually pretty good for a pop tune. She recently tweeted a photo of herself with Monica in the studio (via UD).
Not Kanye, not Jay-Z, not Will Ferrell, but Jon Heder’s voice is heard on “N*ggas In Paris” saying: “I don’t even know what that means!” The actor, best known for his role in Napoleon Dynamite, recently talked to FUSE about having his line immortalized on The Throne’s single (via B. Dot).
