DMX Returns to New York City for Sold Out Concert

I’ve literally waited for this moment since I was still a teenager. DMX’s music first hit my ears while I was still in Middle School. Aside from Wu-Tang, I think X may been one of the first rappers that I really fell in love with (pause). My friend Chris Siu brought It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot on the bus one day and I swear I didn’t do anything but listen to that damn album for a week straight, after that morning.

After missing out on the Hard Knock Life tour, I vowed that I would see Earl rock a concert before I died. I used to watch Backstage and Belly, over and over again. For me, there wasn’t anything better than the whole Roc-A-Fella, Ruff Ryders, and Murda Inc. era. Well, last night I got to relive some of that nostalgia and fulfill a part of my childhood.

DMX attacked the stage at SOBs from every angle. Within the first five minutes of the show, Swizzy popped up for “Ruff Ryders Anthem” and a few other RR classics. X did all of the hits but I really, really wished he would have performed “ATF.” But I guess I’m just being greedy (they killed that song, too). The veteran rapper kept the energy up all night long. He even mixed in hilarious moments of fan interaction and a few serious notes. At one point he poured Henny on someone’s head, had a girl wipe down his d*ck with a towel, and told some ‘tight-jacket-wearing-photographer’ to get off the stage. It was a night I’ll never forget (One love Boomer!).

Let’s pray this is the start another DMX comeback.

Nicki Minaj Returns With Her Party Anthem, “Starships” (New Music)

nicki-minaj-starships-cover

Nicki Minaj wants to get us on the dance floor and let loose with her brand new offering, “Starships.” The new single off her sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, is more dance friendly and fun compared to “Roman Holiday”, debuted at Sunday’s Grammys. During her post-Grammys interview with Ryan Seacrest, she raved about the song calling it one of her favorites off the new LP arriving April 3rd.

It feels right. It just feels good. It makes people feel happy and that’s all I want. I want to start the year off with making people feel good. The [Grammy] performance was the performance, that was my clear craziness, and now it’s time to make people dance and have fun, and that’s all I want to do.”

Did Nicki Minaj redeem herself following the controversy at the Grammy Awards? Stream below and let us know.
